Theme 1 - Institutional And Organisational Strengthening

Theme 1 – Institutional and Organisational Strengthening focuses on the following components:

Review of legal issues
Review of institutional arrangements
Establishment and support to Secretariat and other ORASECOM institutions
Establish and support ORASECOM technical working groups
Define ORASECOM's relationship and linkages with other basin bodies and review of its mandate
Development of a holistic implementation programme and definition of institutional arrangements
Development of a mechanism to mobilise funds for the conservation of the basin catchment
Creation and support to sub-basin stakeholder councils /committees

ORASECOM and NBI members visit Katse Dam (Lesotho), as part of a study tour in 2008.
